🦸Characters

Overview

Blast Royale features a wide range of cool characters you can choose to use in battle. Some of these characters are available for free, some can be earned for free by playing the game, and some characters are available through unique means such as the Premium Blast Pass, Leaderboard Placements, airdrops, etc.

Characters

Every player starts the game with a default character. Other characters can be unlocked by progressing in the game, purchasing them in the in-game shop or purchasing them from 3rd party NFT marketplaces such as Sphere.

NFT Characters

Some characters can be earned either in-game or out of game. These characters uniquely belong to the player as they are web3 assets, which means that players can do whatever they want with them, e.g. selling or trading them to other people.

Currently, we have our Corpos collection and Plague Doctors collection live. Owning a Corpo NFT unlocks a Corpo character in-game. It will be the same with Plague Doctors, and also with Corpos and Plague Doctors melee weapons.

Players can buy NFT characters from marketplaces or from sales organized by us or our partners.

Players can use these characters in the gameplay and also outside to represent their metaverse profile. Players choose a character out of all the ones they own and use it to represent themselves in both gameplay and the metaverse.

As of writing, players can purchase Corpos on Magic Eden and Plague Doctors on Sphere or Token Trove, and connect these to the game through the Blast Hub.

Gameplay Effect

Neither Free nor NFT characters have any effect on the gameplay, they are purely cosmetic entities. Whilst there are many other games that incorporate gameplay elements within their characters, we feel this is very limiting in the world of Blockchain gaming.

In Web3, each of our digital representations is unique, just like real life. Therefore, it is important to us to create a game where you can both look and play in your own way that is unique to you, and that you aren’t forced to look or play as something you don’t like.

It also unlocks a possibility in the future for creators to freely make more great characters without compromising or having to consider the gameplay.
